Nothing Here Is Wasted

We are a confluence of forces that shape how we experience the world.

In the Bhagavad Gita, these forces are described as sattva (clarity and ease), rajas (energy and drive), and tamas (rest and stillness).

What we often get wrong — as adults and as parents — is believing that we’re meant to live in just one of these states, or that some are “better” than others.

But we move through all three, many times a day.
So do our children.

Gentle awareness begins when we stop shaming ourselves or our kids for the state they’re in and start asking instead: What is present right now? What does this moment need?

When we understand that clarity, ambition, and stillness all belong — that none of them define who we are — we create space for growth without pressure.

Not by forcing change, but by allowing life to unfold and guide us where we’re meant to go.
